1) From research to entrepreneurship:
What are ways to translate academic research (the actual research results, transferable techniques, transferable skills, etc.) into entrepreneurial ventures. Is this just a question of mindset?
Deliverable goals: Examples of environments that work, programs that campus units can organize, courses to develop etc.
2) Institutional barriers and hopes
Say you have an entrepreneurial idea. What are institutional resources and barriers to help you succeed? (eg: cooperative vs uncooperative faculty, patenting, IP ownership issues)
Deliverable goals: Resources for IPIRA, incentives for faculty
3) Mentoring resources for entrepreneurs
How do we access the Bay Area's entrepreneurial community - access to experts both on campus as well as outside, in private, government, non-profit, etc. ventures.
Deliverable goals: Community partners who are open to collaboration, Berkeley faculty willing to be mentors
4) Challenging Stereotypes, Fostering Accessibility, and Broadening Opportunities
Is entrepreneurship accessible for people of all backgrounds? How does one broaden the definition of entrepreneur to make it more relatable?
Deliverable goals: Inclusivity practices in entrepreneurship, discrimination & implicit biases, etc.
